What is dog acupuncture?

Dog acupuncture is very similar to the acupuncture treatment done to us humans. I think it’s best to describe it thourougly and how it’s done on us before explaining any differences. The principle is very easy to grasp and what you really do in short is sticking very thin needles in your body. When these special acupuncture needles penetrate the skin you will get an increased bloodflow which helps damaged areas in your body to heal faster, or which wouldn’t heal by itself at all. The idea with acupuncture in short is to relieve pain (for example a really bad stomach ache), and just as us people dog or any other pet for that matter can feel pain and have many different kinds of ailments. And when you get older it is harder for the body to recover as fast since you generally don’t move as much as you did when you where younger. It is the same way with dogs.
